Location and transport

Kecskemét lies halfway between Budapest and Szeged on the M5, which continues to the Serbian border at Röszke. Budapest is about an hour away by truck, and the M0 ring road and the airport are within the same range. Main road 54 leads south-west towards Baja. The city is on the Budapest–Cegléd–Szeged railway line.

Most logistics space is in the southern industrial zone, next to the Mercedes-Benz plant, which has made cars here since 2012. Suppliers such as Knorr-Bremse and Motherson, and logistics providers including Kühne+Nagel, have sites nearby.

What you find here

  • IGPark Kecskemét Dél on Daimler út, a new Class A park built in phases since 2023, right beside main road 54 and close to the M5. Its buildings have BREEAM certification.
  • VGP Park Kecskemét on Momofuku utca, in the same southern zone about 5 km from the M5. Units start at a few thousand square metres; its second phase is still being developed.
  • Katonatelepi industrial park and energy-efficient halls on Kiskőrösi út and Szent István körút, closer to the city, for smaller users.

Units start at around 500 m² in the smaller buildings and 1 500–3 500 m² in the new parks. Leases in the new parks are typically five years.

What to ask for an automotive operation

If you supply a car plant, check the floor load and flatness for high racking or automated systems, the power supply available for battery charging, the number of dock doors per 1 000 m², and whether the landlord accepts 24-hour operation. Ask too how far the hall is from the plant's gates by the route trucks actually take.

Who it suits

Kecskemét suits Mercedes suppliers and their logistics partners, distributors serving the southern Great Plain and Serbia, and companies that want new Class A space at a regional rent. Labour is competitive because the car industry recruits heavily; ask landlords about commuter buses. Closer to Budapest on the same motorway, see Gyál and Alsónémedi; in the east, Debrecen.
