Location and transport
Miskolc lies about 180 km north-east of Budapest. The M30 leaves the M3 near Emőd, runs past the city's southern edge and, since 2021, continues to the Slovak border at Tornyosnémeti, towards Košice. The city is a railway hub on the Budapest–Košice line, which makes rail freight towards Slovakia possible.
The main industrial zones are the Miskolc Industrial Park, on the former airport site, and the South Technology Park next to the M30. Bosch has built a logistics and distribution centre of almost 100 000 m² in the industrial park, which shows the area's growing role in regional distribution.
