Hungary's eastern hub

Debrecen lies about 230 km east of Budapest. The M35 connects it to the M3 towards Budapest and Miskolc, and continues south to Berettyóújfalu, where the M4 has reached the Romanian border at Nagykereki, near Oradea, since 2020. Ukraine and Slovakia are a few hours away by truck. Debrecen International Airport handles cargo as well as passengers, and the city is a railway hub towards Nyíregyháza and Romania.

The engine of the market is the North-West Economic Zone, between the M35 and main road 33, which includes BMW's plant site and a supplier park; a new M35 junction was built for it. The region is also where new regional space is being added: according to the BRF industrial market report for Q2 2026, all three new regional halls of the quarter, 89 125 m² in total, were delivered in the Northern Great Plain, Debrecen's region.
